Helena Hedblom, Atlas Copco mining and rock excavation technique president, said that Cate Drilling Solutions would enable Atlas Copco to better serve its US customer base. The acquisition is expected to take place in the first quarter of 2018.

“Having the strong team at Cate Drilling Solutions as part of our group will enable us to get closer to and serve even better our mining customers in central United States,” said Hedblom.

As part of the acquisition Cate Drilling Solutions will be merged into the Mining and Rock Excavation Service division of recently announced Atlas Copco subsidiary Epiroc, a mining and civil engineering-focused company to start operating from next year subject to shareholder approval.
