Aurecon announces several key appointments

The engineering and consulting firm this week announced a number of significant appointments, including former Lendlease executive Andrew Muller as its new CFO.

The engineering and consulting firm this week announced a number of significant appointments, including former Lendlease executive Andrew Muller as its new CFO.Aurecon’s Global CEO, Giam Swiegers, released a statement this week announcing the appointment of Mr. Muller, previously CFO of Lendlease Construction & Infrastructure Australia, as its CFO and as a member of its Executive Committee effective 1 February.

“The engineering and infrastructure industry faces huge change and challenges over the next few years. A high performing finance function is essential to drive our business forward,” said Mr. Swiegers in the statement.

“Andrew Muller’s extensive industry experience, combined with his strategic thinking and operational expertise, will help us to achieve significant financial outcomes and drive business growth.”

The appointment follows the decision of Aurecon CFO, Tony McCusker to step down from the CFO role and to continue to work for the business on a part time basis.

Mr. Muller’s appointment accompanies the firm’s announcement of several other key industry figures.

Michael Shirley has joined Aurecon as Managing Director, Clients and a member of its Executive Committee. Mr. Shirley joins the company from Jacobs, where he was most recently Group Vice President ANZ Infrastructure and Environment.

Chair of Good Design Australia Maureen Thurston has been appointed as Aurecon’s Global Design to Innovate Director and Dr. Andrew Maher has been named as the firm’s Chief Digital Officer.

The statement from Aurecon asserted that these appointments are key to its strategy to strengthen its operational excellence, client relationships and competitiveness in the global marketplace.
