New South Wales Roads & Maritime Services has appointed an Arcadis and Jacobs joint venture as the lead concept designers on the M12 Motorway.
The joint venture will provide the concept designs for the project and undertake environmental impact assessments for the 16km motorway.
The new M12 will provide direct access to Western Sydney Airport at Badgerys Creek and connect to Sydney’s existing motorway network. The new motorway is aimed at increasing road capacity, the movement of freight in and through Western Sydney, and reducing congestion and travel times.
“The M12 motorway is a key piece of infrastructure that will help unlock more of Western Sydney and is critical to the future of Sydney,” said Phil Kajewski, Managing Director Infrastructure Australia Pacific Arcadis, in a statement.
“Arcadis and our partner, Jacobs, are very excited to work on such a city-defining project.”
