Koppens Development have now commenced work on the project, jointly funded by the Federal and Queensland Governments and of the Federal Government’s $10 billion investment to upgrade the Bruce Highway.

Senator for Queensland Ian Macdonald said the section of major highway has more than 1,000 heavy vehicles use it every day.

“Innisfail sees over 12,700 vehicles, including over 1000 heavy vehicles, travelling along this busy road each day. Today’s announcement brings us one step closer to ensuring that everyone can reach their destinations sooner and safer,” Mr. Macdonald said.

Works are expected to completed by late 2018, weather permitting.
