Southern Cross Electrical Engineering (SCEE) announced that it’s subsidiary in Sydney, Heyday, has been awarded a major contract by the WestConnex M5 joint venture contractor, CPB Dragados Samsung (CDSJV).

The contract awarded by the CDSJV comprises two portions – the Stage 2 Electrical Installation Works – LV Services West work package and the Tunnel Electrical Installation Through Cabling work package.

SCEE said the specific work Heyday is required to perform includes the supply and installation of cable supports and pathways to facilitate HV and LV electrical cabling, installation of tunnel and emergency lighting and the cabling of communications, closed circuit TV and other associated specialist control systems relevant to allow the safe and efficient passage of vehicle traffic.

“I am delighted to announce this significant award for us in the transport infrastructure sector,” SCEE Managing Director Graeme Dunn said in a statement.

“This demonstrates a clear vindication of our strategy, combining across the group relationships, large project experience and our strengthened balance sheet, to enable us to win and perform projects of this scale and nature.

“We look forward to working with CDSJV in the upcoming period on this exciting opportunity.”
