Fulton Hogan contracted for King Georges Road Interchange Upgrade as part of WestConnexFulton Hogan has signed the contract for the King Georges Road Interchange Upgrade project with WestConnex Delivery Authority.

The upgrade is the first step in the project, which will link Sydney’s west and south-west with the city, airport and port.

Fulton Hogan Chief Operation Officer Construction Peter Kessler said that the company is excited to be a part of the significant project.

“Soon the Fulton Hogan project team will be on site at the King George Road Interchange starting the physical work on this $130 million project,” he said.

“We have spent months planning how we will deliver the upgrade and changes to the M5 motorway to minimise the impact on motorists and surrounding communities.”

He said that the King Georges Road Interchange Upgrade complements Fulton Hogan’s construction portfolio in New South Wales. This includes projects such as Princess Highway upgrades at Gerringong and Foxground, and Berry Pass.

“This is the first time we have worked with WestConnex Delivery Authority and we look forward to partnering with them to deliver innovative solutions to keep Sydney’s traffic moving,” said Mr. Kessler.

Mobilisation and geotechnical investigations begin in June. The project is scheduled for completion by mid-2017.
