The 7000-page document assess the environmental effects and benefits of the project and has reported travel times will be reduced by 10 minutes between the Mornington Peninsula Freeway and Dingley Bypass.

Members of the public have been invited to provide feedback on the EES documents for the project, which will be on display for 30 business days.

The new freeway aims to take 13,000 trucks off nearby local roads to provide residents with quieter and safer streets.

Noise walls will be constructed along the new freeway to reduce vehicle noise near the residential areas of Dingley Village, Aspendale Gardens and Waterways.

Wildlife passes will also be constructed to allow animals safe access to both sides of the freeway, with fencing installed to prevent wildlife from wandering onto the road. The fencing also aims to reduce the impact of light and noise on wildlife in Braeside Park.

No-go zones will be implemented during construction to minimise the impact on the natural environment, with twin bridge structured to be built over the Waterways wetlands to allow light to the vegetation underneath.

Minister for Roads and Road Safety Luke Donnellan said the EED confirms the Mordialloc Freeway will take trucks of residential streets, slash travel times and protect the health of the community.

Member for Mordialloc Tim Richardson said local residents have said they want this link.

“Now they’ve got the chance to be involved in feedback on how we build the best Mordialloc Freeway,” Mr Richardson said.
