The awards, held at the Hilton Hotel in Adelaide, recognise the best projects in categories based on dollar value for public recognition.

The O-Bahn project won the top “Value over $75 million” category, acknowledging the achievements of builder McConnell Dowell and the SA Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure.

Lucas Total Contract Solutions took home the Project Value $10 million to $30 million category for its work on the Tailem Bend Raceway – the second longest permanent race track in the world.

Other winners on the night included: BMD Constructions, City of Playford and Greenhill for the Prince George Plaza in the Project Value $5 million to $10 million category; Lucas Total Contract Solutions for the Bickford Terrace Major Drainage project in the Project Value $2 million to $5 million group; and Civil Tech won the Project Value up to $2 million category for its work on the St. Peters & Gilberton Swing Bridge Refurbishment.

CCF (SA) Chief Executive Officer Phil Sutherland said the civil sector had and continued to enjoy an outperforming year, which was reflected in the standard and variation of project entries.

“Importantly, we were pleased to see in the 2018 entries pool a strong level of commitment to innovation, sustainability, environmental responsibility in project execution, and in many cases, delivery on time and on budget,” Mr. Sutherland said.

“These are skillsets that we need to fight to retain in South Australia where development and construction of new infrastructure projects particularly, can invigorate economic and employment outcomes.”

The SA winners automatically go into the national finals to be judged separately with winners to be announced at the CCF National Earth Awards Gala Dinner in Canberra on Friday 16 November 2018.
