Upgrade works have begun on the Great Alpine Road between Wangaratta and Cobungra in Victoria to improve the route’s safety and reliability.
Major construction for Victoria’s Drysdale Bypass is on track to begin in September, following the award of an early works contract on the $117 million project.
Work has begun to widen and upgrade the Western Highway between Buangor and Ararat to duplicate a 12.5 kilometre stretch of road and deliver a four-lane divided route.
Expressions of interest are now underway to build the second phase of the project, which adds 36 kilometres of new lanes to the freeway in Melbourne.
