The best of the best in the flexible pavements industry were recognised at the 2015 Australia Asphalt Pavement Association (AAPA) Gala Dinner and Industry Awards held at the Gold Coast in September.
The award winners were announced at the awards night, run in conjunction with the 2015 AAPA International Flexible Pavements Conference.
State award winners were announced earlier in the year and qualified for the national round of the awards.
The 2015 AAPA National Industry award winners are as follow:
– Safety Initiative Award: Jim Appleby, Downer for the Near Miss System
– Outstanding Project Award: Boral for the Toowoomba Range Realignment Project
– Innovation in Design, Process or Product Award: Downer for the 99% Recycled Asphalt Product
– Industry Leadership Award: Rob McGuire, Boral
The 2015 AAPA State award winners are as follow:
Queensland
– Outstanding Project Award: Boral for the Toowoomba Range Realignment Project.
– Innovation in Design, Process or Product Award: Fulton Hogan for the Field Testing Laboratory Vehicle.
– Safety Initiatives Award: Mark Taylor, Boral.
– Industry Leadership Award: Rob McGuire, Boral.
New South Wales
– Outstanding Project Award: Downer Infrastructure and AML for their project on the Eastern Distributor – Cleveland Street Underpass remediation.
– Innovation in Design, Process or Product Award: Boral for the Design and Construction of the asphalt pavement for Enfield Intermodal Logistics Centre.
– Safety Initiatives Award: Jim Appleby, Downer
– Industry Leadership Award: Bevan Sullivan, Fulton Hogan.
Victoria
– Innovation in Design, Process or Product Award: Downer for 99% Recycled Asphalt
– Outstanding Project Award: Downer for Pakenham Racecourse
– Safety Initiatives Award: David Snape, Fulton Hogan
– Industry Leadership Award: Dr. Nigel Preston, VIVA Energy
