WestTrac has launched a new range of Cat E Series hammers to the Australian market.
The new, robust hammers have an application within a range of heavy-duty applications, including secondary quarrying, trenching/primary excavation, demolition and road construction.
The manufacturer has also released a range for use with mini excavators, skid-steer loaders and backhoe loaders. These hammers, while small, are designed specifically for construction and demolition projects and excel at breaking cinder block, brick, asphalt and pavement.
“These new hammers are bristling with tougher and smarter design. Not only do they last longer but they allow you to work more efficiently for their entire life span. That’s better value in anyone’s language,” said Michael Kelly, Product Specialist – Cat Worktools.
“The timing couldn’t be better for the New South Wales construction market. Our customers are continually looking for ways to do more with less – something that these new hammers will certainly help deliver.”
With its symmetrical and fully-enclosed housing, one-piece side plates, easily replaced rock edges and optional wear package (on some models), the E-Series hammer is designed and built to last longer.
The new hammers come with auto shut off (which helps to eliminate blank firing), as well as a unique suspension system to protect the carrier and increase hammer durability. Integral silencing also makes it more comfortable for operators and more suitable in urban environments.
Easily removable covers allow for daily maintenance, and it includes a field-replaceable lower brushing tool. The simpler tool retaining pin system means it is quickly removed, shortening inspection time.
The E series Hammers are specifically designed for Cat machines, but can also be fitted to other makes of machine.
