Austroads has appointed a new Chief Operating Officer, following the retirement of David Francis, Dr. Geoff Allan will take over.
David Francis had been a member of Austroads for more than 16 years.
He was Chief Operating Officer at Austroads for more than four years, providing advice, direction and support to the Chief Executive Officer and national office staff in the development, management and reporting of Austroads’ projects.
Dr. Allan has a background in transport and experience working across Australasia.
He spent most of the last six years as Chief Operating Officer for the National Transport Commission where he helped build the skills and confidence of staff to deliver complex reforms in a challenging multi-jurisdictional environment.
He has also worked in the Federal Department of Transport and the Queensland Departments of Transport and Main Roads.
Dr. Allan holds a PhD in public sector management and has worked in high profile roles for Queensland Corrective Services, Department of Communities (Queensland) and Queensland Environmental Protection Agency.
