Beca appoints new general manager for Transport and Infrastructure, Australia

Technical services consultancy, Beca, has appointed Rachel Fowler as general manager for its Australian Transport and Infrastructure business.

Ms. Fowler joined Beca 18 months ago as operations manager for Australia, with an impressive track record of over 25 years in global engineering consultancies. She has worked across the transport, resources, and maritime and coastal management sectors, leading large teams in the delivery of complex infrastructure projects and portfolios.

Since joining Beca, Ms. Fowler has been guiding the company’s involvement in key Australian transport and infrastructure projects across the roads, airports, rail and light rail sectors. These include design packages for the Southern Program Alliance, which incorporates nine level crossing removals to improve road and rail safety in Melbourne, expansion of Sunshine Coast Airport in Queensland and the upgrade of Memorial Avenue, a key urban arterial road in Sydney.

“I’m looking forward to leading our passionate, motivated and empowered team to grow and evolve our services within the vibrant transport and infrastructure industry,” she says. “By embracing new technology and focusing on safety and sustainability, we aim to make everyday better for the people whose lives we touch: our clients, partners, stakeholders and the communities that benefit from the projects that we are involved in.”

Damian Pedreschi, Beca’s group director of transport and infrastructure, says, “Beca has led some significant infrastructure projects in Australia in recent years and is developing great teams to address demand for integrated transport solutions across Victoria and New South Wales. Since joining us, Rachel has consistently delivered excellence to ensure we’re making everyday better for our Australian clients and their customers.”
