Brierty Contractors win Kwinana contractThe Australian and Western Australian Governments have announced Brierty Contractors as the successful tenderer for the next stage of the $77.5 million Kwinana Freeway widening project.

The $13.5 million stage of the project involves the addition of three lanes for 3.5 kilometres to the southbound section of the Freeway from Armadale Road to Russell Road.

“More than 52,000 vehicles use this section of the freeway each day and this figure is expected to rise to 75,000 vehicles by 2021,” said Assistant Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Jamie Briggs.

“We are wasting no time delivering the world class infrastructure Perth needs with construction due to begin in September and project completion by mid-2016.”

This next stage of the Kwinana widening project follows on directly from work between Roe Highway and Armadale road, which will be completed in a few weeks, several months ahead of schedule.

The Australian Government is contributing $61.9 million to the $77.5 million overall project.
