Downer has announced a number of changes to its board as part of an ongoing renewal process.
After nine years of service, Teresa Handicott will retire as a Non-Executive Director, with her tenure set to end after Downer’s Annual General Meeting in November this year.
Mark Menhinnitt, Chairman and Independent Non-Executive Director – Downer thanked Handicott for her service to the company.
“[She] has made a significant contribution to Downer during her tenure, providing a strong voice on operational performance and governance,” he said.

Downer has also announced the appointments of two new, independent Non-Executive Directors. Kerry Gleason and Annette Carey’s roles will commence at the start of September and November respectively.
Gleeson is an experienced Chair and Non-Executive Director in the industrial, mining and resources sectors, with over 25 years of ASX experience as a director, senior executive and board advisor, working nationally and internationally.
Carey has more than 20 years’ experience as a senior executive, where she has led multi-billion-dollar operational businesses in the logistics, supply chain, government and security sectors in Australia and internationally.
