CIMIC Group Mining and Mineral Process Executive and Thiess Managing Director Michael Wright has been named as the Group’s new Deputy Chief Executive Officer.
Mr. Wright, who has held a range of management and executive roles within the CIMIC Group of companies, takes up is new position effective immediately.
CIMIC Group Chief Executive Officer Adolfo Valderas welcomed Mr. Wright’s appointment, noting his almost 20 years’ experience at CIMIC Group.
“During his career, Michael has gained extensive expertise in engineering, construction, tunnelling, industrial and environmental services, telecommunications, utilities and mining,” said Mr. Valderas.
“Most recently, he successfully built on our company’s competitive strength in the resources sector, expanding and diversifying our mining operations into new commodities and geographies.
“Michael’s appointment reflects these achievements and the confidence I have in his ability to support the leadership of CIMIC Group as we generate returns for shareholders by successfully delivering projects for our clients and providing safe, rewarding and fulfilling careers for our people.
