Downer receives ADF contract extension

Downer has received an extension of its Estate Maintenance and Operation Services contract with the Australian Department of Defence, worth approximately $400 million.

Downer has received an extension of its Estate Maintenance and Operation Services contract with the Australian Department of Defence, worth approximately $400 million.

As part of the contract, Downer is responsible for providing base and estate management and support, transport services, and land management services for Defence bases and training facilities across the Queensland, ACT and Southern New South Wales Defence regions.

Chief Executive Officer of Downer Group, Peter Tompkins said Downer has played a key role in providing sustainment, infrastructure and estate services to the Australian Department of Defence for over a decade.

“We look forward to working closely with the Department to deliver these important services for the extension period,” Tompkins said.

Downer has provided manufacturing and heavy industry capability to the Defence sector since the 1940s.

The 12-month extension will come into effect in August next year and will run through to 31 July 2025.
