When: March 20-21, 2025
Where: Prince of Wales Showgrounds, Bendigo, Victoria
March 2025 sees the hosting of Municipal Works Australia’s 2025 Municipal Works and Engineering Conference in Bendigo, Victoria.
The annual event, which is now in its 30th year, is considered Australia’s premier gathering of engineers, municipal works staff, and the companies that supply and support the municipal works industry dedicated to exchanging innovative ideas and best practices in municipal works. Next year’s “Sharing Solutions” conference will focus on collaborative approaches to address the pressing challenges cities and communities face worldwide. Sharing solutions in municipal works is crucial for fostering innovation, improving efficiency, and addressing common daily challenges municipal works practitioners face.
MWA’s conference organising committee has assembled a distinguished panel of keynote speakers, each a leader in their respective fields. Among them is Nicole Livingstone OAM, a renowned sports administrator and media commentator who represented Australia at three Olympics, winning a silver medal and two bronze medals. Her keynote presentation will draw from her rich life experiences and shed light on the benefits of a collaborative organisational culture, inspiring us all.
Participants will also hear from Justin Herald, Managing Director, Major Motivation, who, at 25, Justin started Attitude Gear® with $50. Despite initial challenges, his brand gained popularity and grew into a multi-million-dollar company. The conference program will feature 25 speakers over two days, including presentations by officers from municipalities that have successfully implemented innovative solutions in areas such as road safety, asset management, civil infrastructure maintenance and community engagement.
The trade show exhibition is not just a display of cutting-edge technologies and services, but an interactive platform that will excite and involve you. Featuring demonstrations and exhibits from over 75 leading companies and startups in the municipal works sector, it offers a unique opportunity to explore and learn. In a new addition for 2025, machinery operators representing councils from throughout Australia will test their skills in the RDO Equipment Top Gun Challenge. The team at Hiway will also provide a road rehabilitation demonstration, among a range of other works demonstrations.
