Georgiou Group has been selected to deliver the Pimlico to Teven stage three project as part of the $4.3 billion Woolgoolga to Ballina Pacific Highway Upgrade in New South Wales.
The construction and engineering firm undertake vital infrastructure works, including the construction of the final southbound carriageway, the demolition and reconstruction of two bridges, earthworks and realignment of a new permanent junction with the Pacific Highway.
Chief Executive Officer John Georgiou said the company was pleased to be appointed for this stage of works and be associated with the largest regional infrastructure project in Australia.
“Traditionally, Georgiou has built a reputation as a quality roads contractor in Western Australia however over the past five years our focus has been on building a national reputation across New South Wales and Queensland,” he explained.
“This project is a great opportunity to showcase our capability in the transport market within NSW while building on our relationship with Roads and Maritime Services.
Additionally, we’re excited to be working with our lead subcontractor partner SRG whom is currently working with Georgiou on the Mandurah Bridge project in Western Australia.”
The project will employ 50 at peak and is scheduled for completion by October 2019.
Once complete the overall upgrade will reduce the overall length of the highway, reduce travel times, and improve safety and travel reliability.
