Upcoming, around the clock works on the Albury to Illabo section of the Inland Rail project will see demolition and general construction works deliver improved connections for both trains and the community.
The Albury to Illabo section of Inland Rail includes enhancements along approximately 185 kilometres of existing rail corridor from the Victoria-New South Wales (NSW) border to Illabo in regional New South Wales.
Across two days (December 6,7), contractor Martinus will carry out works to prepare the line for future double-stacked freight trains.
The Albury Station pedestrian footbridge will be demolished as part of these works, to allow for the construction of a new, higher bridge to ensure vertical clearance for trains, and improve access for the community.
