The latest designs of the Broadford-Wandong Road bridge, Wandong have been released by Inland Rail for feedback before the project commences construction.
Inland Rail is replacing the Broadford-Wandong Road bridge in Wadong, Victoria to provide sufficient height and width clearances to allow the safe passage of double-stacked freight trains.
Updated visualisations of the bridge highlight wider traffic lanes for motorists, safe pathways for cyclists and pedestrians, improvements to the Rail Street and the Epping-Kilmore Road intersections, and an extension of the community garden.
In Victoria, the Inland Rail authority is upgrading 262 kilometres of existing rail line between Beveridge and Albury at 12 sites, including Broadford, to allow double-stacked freight trains to pass safely and ensure everyday products can be delivered faster and more reliably.

Early works have begun in Broadford including surveying the railway track, road and pavement levels at multiple locations, investigating and cleaning out drainage pits at multiple drainage locations and locating and mapping underground utilities.
The project is expected to create up to 400 jobs to build the new track, bridges and level crossings along the newly approved section with upgrades to a further 3.5 kilometres of existing train track for necessary integration works to the main rail line at Illabo.
Inland Rail, and construction partner John Holland, will undertake a month-long community engagement process until Monday 24 March.
