Accessibility for passengers on the Bendigo Line has been improved, with a new ramp built at the entrance to Kyneton Station, in Victoria.
The new switchback ramp has been designed to deliver better passing space for passengers and make it easier for passengers using mobility aids to access the station.
New lights have been installed to improve visibility at night when accessing the ramp and for passengers entering the station, while the bus shelter has been relocated to allow for the new ramp and a widened footpath.
Kyneton Station opened in 1862 and is one of the key stops for trains on the Bendigo, Echuca and Swan Hill lines and on average, more than 2,500 passengers pass through the station each week.
This new accessibility ramp is part of a more than $10 million program delivered by V/Line to upgrade and improve accessibility at 16 V/Line stations across the network.

Other stations that received accessibility upgrades as part of the program of works also include Caroline Springs, Drouin, North Geelong, Shepparton, Tarneit, Warragul and Wyndham Vale.
Gabrielle Williams, Minister for Public and Active Transport in Victoria, says the state government are frequently working to deliver a more accessible transport network.
These improvements will make a difference to passengers’ experience at Kyneton Station.
“We are continuing to invest in a public transport network that is more accessible, safe and reliable for passengers across regional Victoria.”
