The Victorian Government is rolling out a major maintenance blitz for Melbourne’s tram systems on Spencer and Bourke Street this week.
From 15 to 26 February, crews will complete works near the intersection of Spencer and Bourke Street, replacing tram tracks and road surfaces while also installing new poles and overhead wires.
A full road closure of the intersection will be in place, with detours outlined for traffic and pedestrians, in addition to service changes to Bourke Street and Spencer Street tram routes.
Bourke Street will specifically remain closed between King and Spencer streets, and Spencer Street closed between Little Bourke and Little Collins.
There will also be detours in place along King Street and Wurundjeri Way.
