Mott MacDonald appoints new rail sector leader

Mott MacDonald has appointed a new rail leader for Australia and New Zealand who will be responsible for the development and growth of the consultancy’s rail team across Australasia.

Steve Godman will take on the leadership role after joining the company and acting as track business leader for the UK railway team, as well as rail systems lead for Transport for London’s Northern Line Extension.Mott MacDonald has appointed a new rail leader for Australia and New Zealand who will be responsible for the development and growth of the consultancy’s rail team across Australasia.

Mr Godman has been relocated to Australia to lead the Australasian market portfolio, which include the Sydney Metro, Melbourne Metro, Inland Rail in Brisbane and the expansion of Auckland’s rail network.

“I’m delighted to be taking up this role having spent much of the last year working on bids in Australia and New Zealand and building relationships with key clients,” Mr Godman said.

“I’m looking forward to the challenge of continuing the technical development and growth of the team as we respond to and deliver against a truly unique set of opportunities that exist across the region.”

Mott MacDonald Managing Director for Asia Pacific, Asia and New Zealand David Johnson said Mr Godman is a highly experienced expert in all things rail.

“His extensive knowledge and ability to utilise both our local and international capabilities will enable us to continue to deliver the very best solutions to the many complex challenges faced by our clients,” Mr Johnson said.
