The National Broadband Network (NBN) Corporation has awarded a new contract to upgrade the remaining Fibre to the Node (FTTN) network nationally, which includes the installation of additional fibre infrastructure to about 175,000 premises.
Ventia’s subsidiary Visionstream Australia has been awarded the contract valued at around $800 million, which will see them support the transition from FTTN to Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) technology for households across Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, Western Australia and Tasmania.

Ventia Group Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Dean Banks said the company has experience and a strong national presence to support the delivery of projects of this scale.
“This new contract is testament to Ventia and NBN Co’s strategic partnership and we are proud to continue supporting nbn in the delivery of high-speed connectivity to homes and businesses across Australia, particularly in regional areas,” Banks said.
The contract includes a two-year extension option, which is up to the NBN’s discretion. These works will commence later this month.
