Civil infrastructure and construction company Fulton Hogan has made several new appointments to its management team to support its plans for growth in Australia.

Graeme Johnson has been appointed Chief Executive Officer for the company’s Australian interests. Johnson has been with Fulton Hogan since 2003, and has held a range of senior operational and management roles spanning design, construction, materials manufacturing, and asset management.

Cos Bruyn, Fulton Hogan Managing Director, said the decision to appoint a new CEO for Australia would enable the company to further pursue its growth strategy in Australia.

“Fulton Hogan has been in business for 90 years, and operating in Australia for over 40 years, where we currently employ over 3500 staff across the country, undertaking large scale infrastructure and civil engineering projects and programs of work across resources, transport, water, energy, telecommunications and defence sectors,” he said.

“Graeme Johnson, as our new CEO for Australia, brings with him a wealth of experience, having led our New Zealand business for five years where he helped grow revenues in excess of $2 billion a year.”

Johnson said Fulton Hogan foresees a range of opportunities for further growth and diversification of its portfolio in Australia; and that strengthening relationships with customers, communities and supply chain partners will be fundamental to this.

“We’re going to continue to provide services that meet the immediate infrastructure needs of a growing nation, but we’ll also be an active participant in responding to the challenges of climate change and the necessary infrastructure transitions that are already underway,” he said.

Johnson will be supported by three business sector leads including Peter Curl, recently appointed Fulton Hogan Infrastructure Services CEO, Brett Smiley, new CEO of Fulton Hogan Construction, and Lee Revell, who has been the CEO of Fulton Hogan Utilities since 2019.
