Roads Australia appoints new CEO

Roads Australia has appointed Ehssan Veiszadeh as its new Chief Executive Officer, commencing July 3.

Veiszadeh joins Roads Australia from his role as the Deputy CEO of Committee for Sydney, an urban policy think tank. He was also previously an advisor to former New South Wales Premier Gladys Berejiklian, as well as a Federal and State Press Gallery journalist with Australian Associated Press.

He also serves as President of University of Sydney’s Alumni Council and Chair of the Crescent Institute.

Roads Australia President Aneetha de Silva said Veiszadeh will bring experience in government, media and policy to the role.

“I look forward to working with Ehssan, our Board and members on continuing RA’s strong record of advocacy on the evolution of Australia’s roads, integrated transport and mobility networks,” she said.

Veiszadeh said he was honoured to be leading Roads Australia.

“Roads Australia has played an important role in leading the conversation on key issues facing the industry such as decarbonisation, productivity, diversity and attracting talent,” he said. “I look forward to working with RA’s members, Board and team to build on this important work and to offer solutions to some of our biggest policy challenges.”

Veiszadeh will commence his role from July 3, 2023.
