ROI’s open for Sydney road maintenance contracts

Transport for NSW is seeking registrations of interest (ROI) for the new Sydney Roads Asset Performance contracts for Greater Sydney.

A shortlist of applicants will be selected from this process and invited to tender for the work.

The ROI’s will be open until Wednesday 25 March 2020, at 2.30pm.

Transport for NSW Director of Project Implementation, Matt Sweeting, said the NSW Government’s vision for the contracts is for an integrated transport system that drives better outcomes for all customers.

The services required include, but are not limited to, routine and tactical asset management; routine maintenance for all road related and intelligent transport systems (ITS) assets; tactical maintenance work including all road surface, ITS, bridge and tunnel assets; event management and asset recovery; and minor and complex improvement work.

“The desired outcomes of these contracts include a strong customer focus, safety and performance, sustainability, innovation, and improving and maintaining the liveability, amenity and economic success of communities that connect with our assets,” Mr. Sweeting said.

He says the vision for Greater Sydney as a metropolis of three cities will guide planning, investment and deliver customer outcomes. There will be three contracts in total – one serving each city which will cover the harbour, river and parkland zones.

“We’re looking to get these contracts awarded by the end of the year, so mobilisation can start in January 2021 to hit the ground running from the start of the new contracts six months later,” Mr. Sweeting said.

A briefing will be held at 10am on Wednesday 5 February at NSW Teachers Federation Conference Centre, Auditorium, 37 Reservoir Street, Surry Hills.

The current Stewardship Maintenance Contracts were progressively introduced in 2013 and 2014 and these will end in mid-2021.
