New signs and road markings have been installed at Tomerong in New South Wales, to improve safety in the area.
A Transport for NSW spokesperson said the improved signs, coloured pavement and line marking have be placed at the village’s three entry points.
“Following feedback from community members, Transport has worked closely with Shoalhaven City Council and locals to develop these important road safety treatments,” the spokesperson said.
“The safety treatments reinforce the changing speed zone from 80 kilometres per hour to 50 kilometres per hour as motorists approach the town entry and will more clearly signal the entrance to the village.”

Work also included installing a solid unbroken line for about 450 metres on Pine Forest Road from approximately 50 metres east of the intersection with Connolly Street.
Installing the solid unbroken line will improve safety by stopping motorists from overtaking so close to the town entry and will assist with slowing down vehicles on entry to the lower speed zone.
Transport for NSW is also upgrading the Princes Highway, between Jervis Bay Road at Falls Creek and Hawken Road, Tomerong.
