The contract has been awarded for the $230 million Townsville Ring Road Stage Five project as the $1.5 billion project pipeline for North Queensland.
More than half the total rock required to build a new protective sea wall has been delivered to the Port of Townsville as part of its upgrade project.
The Townsville Ring Road Stage Five is still considered an Infrastructure Australia priority project, however the organisation has called for an updated business case.
The first rocks of the Townsville port's protective wall have been laid, marking the beginning of the $193 million upgrade.
Expressions of interest are open to design and build Townsville's $180 million Ring Road Stage Five.
