The Tasmanian Government has launched Building Tasmania, a new central agency to supercharge infrastructure delivery across the state.
The agency combines infrastructure governance, delivery, and project management expertise together in order to streamline the completion of roads, transport, housing and other projects.
Kerry Vincent, State Minister for Infrastructure and Transport, said the agency’s establishment marked an important evolution for Tasmania’s infrastructure delivery.
“This is about clearer accountability, stronger coordination, and better outcomes for Tasmanians,” he said.
“By centralising infrastructure delivery, we can reduce duplication, streamline decision making and ensure we are delivering homes, roads, schools and many other projects in the best possible way.”

According to Vincent, the agency’s establishment comes as infrastructure continues to drive economic growth in the state, supporting local jobs while also building confidence for consumers and investors alike.
He emphasised that the agency has been created primarily with the state’s residents in mind.
“Above all, Building Tasmania is about delivering for Tasmanians,” he said.
