The Queensland Civil Construction Field Day launches in Brisbane

The Civil Contractors Federation Queensland Limited (CCFQ QLD), launched its inaugural exhibition event for the civil construction industry on 21—22 March in Brisbane.

The Queensland Civil Construction Field Day was a great success, with 920 plus people in attendance and 40 exhibitions on offer, including stalls from Hastings Deering, Hitachi, Vermeer, Construction Skills Queensland and National Pump & Energy.

Exhibitors showcased their latest products and technology and to industry heads and key decision makers, while also providing career pathway information to students from the three local schools in attendance.

CCFQ QLD CEO Damian Long said the event provided an opportunity to drive awareness from the civil construction industry, facilitating educational sessions for industry stakeholders and members of the general public.

“Educating the general public on the work the civil construction industry does is a key aim of CCF QLD. It is an important part of the representation work we do for industry,” Mr. Long says.

Sessions covered topics including equipment innovation, advancements in site positioning systems, industry training and funding options.

“For an inaugural event the attendee numbers exceeded our expectations. We were overwhelmed with the response for the exhibitors. With their support and feedback we will create a bigger and better Field Day next year,” Mr. Long said.

“Our aim is to make this the signature industry event for Queensland.”
