ALLU’s specialised Asphalt Recycling Bucket is an efficient and economic choice for the waste and recycling applications of heavy equipment operators.
It took just six years for ALLU to develop its flagship product. The Finnish heavy machinery manufacturer was established in 1985, first looking to develop solutions in the world of environmental technology. This soon morphed into equipment for the earthmoving market and laid the foundation for ALLU to create what it calls the world’s first excavator-attached screening and crushing bucket. This breakthrough was a catalyst for ALLU’s growth, as the business’ international expansion soon followed.
“ALLU is a market leader in the crushing and screening bucket attachments segment of heavy machinery,” says Sami Rahman, ALLU Sales Manager at Walkers Hammers. “It is widely regarded as a global leader in specific niche applications, such as on-site material processing, soil improvement, and waste and recycling applications.“
Today, the company provides a range of equipment to customers in more than 30 countries, including Australia. Here, a network of partnered, independent dealers supply local markets with ALLU products, creating a strong presence for the brand. These local distributors consist of Walkers Hammers in Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania, Queensland Rock Breakers in Queensland and the Northern Territory, and Total Rockbreaking Solutions in Western Australia.
Walkers Hammers has specifically carried ALLU’s wide-spanning heavy equipment product portfolio for seven years, which was recently bolstered by the release of the ALLU D-series Hybrid-blade Asphalt Recycling Bucket in mid-2025.
This bucket is a heavy machinery attachment designed for the screening and crushing of cold-milled asphalt and reclaimed asphalt pavement. The product boasts a durable and versatile design through customisation due to a number of features which make it suited for various applications.

Its innovative hybrid screening and crushing blade setup – which come in 12, 16 and 25 millimetre lengths – allow the equipment to crush clumps, screen fine material, and separate oversized particles in a single pass. This balance of fine screening with effective crushing power creates a consistent high-quality end product, which has also been constructed with convenience in mind.
“ALLU’s Asphalt Recycling Bucket models have two hydraulic motors and variable drums,” Rahman says. “The drums’ designs specifically allow customers to change the bucket’s blades when they become worn out, without needing to disassemble the drums from the chain boxes.
“The product’s reinforced frame also helps it to withstand tough applications, which are further supported by a serrated cutting edge to help dig into material.”
Rahman explains that these features make the Asphalt Screening Bucket specifically compatible with heavy-duty excavators and wheel loaders, ranging from 24 to 45 tonnes and 15 to 30 tonnes, respectively. He also emphasises that customisation is key to fitment, as operators can choose their buckets to be installed with standard screening blades or axe blades, which enable aggressive crushing and shredding capabilities.
“The bucket model for a customer is decided by the base machine it will be attached to, as well as the oil flow required,” Rahman says.

Because the majority of milled asphalt can be screened directly with the ALLU bucket, instead of the host heavy equipment, the wear on these machines is significantly reduced.
This means decreased fuel consumption, wear part replacements, and operating hours required. As a result, time and money is saved.
Following the Asphalt Recycling Bucket, ALLU is now set to boost its bucket product line further with the release of the Concrete Screening and Crushing Bucket, which will also support recycling and waste management practices for operators.
The ALLU Concrete Bucket is built to crush and screen tough demolition material where they are generated, turning it into usable product on-site without relying on a separate mobile crusher for every job.
This bucket can be fed with demolition rubble up to 300 millimetres, and controls its output with a counter blade setup which allows operators to target both fine and coarse materials, depending on the job. The product’s reinforced design also enables it to handle and process rebar and other steel objects in the material, minimising the need for stoppage and maintenance.
Additionally, the bucket’s build helps to reduce hauling and double handling by letting operators crush and screen directly on an excavator. In this way, it works as a practical replacement for a mobile crusher on smaller or space-restricted sites.
“Contractors don’t need another machine to manage on a crowded jobsite,” says Antti Rautamies, ALLU Research and Development Project Manager. “They need a practical way to turn rubble into usable material with the excavator they already have.
“This bucket is built for the real world – fines-heavy material streams, tight spaces, and reinforced concrete that doesn’t arrive ‘clean’.”
The ALLU Concrete Bucket is under final testing and will be available to the market later in 2026.
