The latest round of the Victorian Government’s grants for organisations and groups to develop and implement community-based road safety projects is now open.
Through this grant program, the Transport Accident Commission (TAC) will award a total of $600,000 to help make roads in local communities safer.
Specific categories of the overall program, like the Road Safety Support Grant and the Road Safety Collaboration Grant, will see successful applicants work alongside TAC’s road safety experts to develop their proposals.
In 2025, nine Victorian groups and organisations received more than $360,000 in grants for projects to improve road safety in their communities

Elderly housing organisation, MiCare, delivered culturally tailored road safety education workshops designed to support vulnerable newly arrived refugees, ensuring they have the knowledge and confidence to navigate Victorian roads safely.
The Mums Supporting Families in Need charity organisation complemented this work by providing professionally fitted car seats to families experiencing disadvantage, helping to protect children and promote safe travel from the very beginning
These programs support the goals of the State Government’s Victorian Road Safety Strategy 2021-2030, which aims to halve deaths and reduce serious injuries on roads by 2030.
Expressions of interest for the program’s Collaboration Grants close on 27 February, while full applications for Support and Collaboration Grants open on Monday, 16 March and close on 15 April.
