Victorian construction to continue with restrictions on certain projects

Construction of critical and essential infrastructure and services to support these projects will be able to continue in Metropolitan Melbourne as they have been with COVID safety procedures. Premier Andrews says these government owned projects are already operating with a 50 per cent drop of workers. The government will continue to go through project by project to reduce workers to the practical minimum number.

Mr. Andrews has also announced large scale construction sites (3 storeys or more) will be operating at a level of 25 per cent of workers, compared from normal operations.

Any small scale construction (3 storeys or less) will allow up to five people on site, with workers only allowed to work at one site during Stage 4 .

All construction operations will have to have a COVID Safe Plan.

Further clarifications on these rules will come to light in the next few days.
