The Victorian Government is investing more than $44 million to fix unsafe and deteriorating roads in the region’s southwest.
Announced last week, the funding will see works to rehabilitate sections of road in the area to make them smoother and resistant to further damage.
More than 240 kilometres of road will undergo resurfacing works, including Foxhow Road, Portland-Casterton Road and Hamilton-Port Fairy Road.
As well as the Bellarine, Princes, Glenelg, Henty and Hamilton highways, many other roads are set for important resurfacing works across the next 12 months including:
- Cobden-Warrnambool Road 6km
- Casterton-Apsley Road 2km
- Condah-Coleraine Road 6km
- Warrnambool-Caramut Road 1km
Major road reconstructions totalling about 30 kilometres are also planned for key arterial roads.
