The Western Australian Government is investing $7.7 billion on transport infrastructure over the next four years as detailed in the State Budget 2016-17, released this week.
This multi-billion-dollar investment in transport accounts for 34 per cent of the total infrastructure investment outlined in the latest budget.
Key road and transport investments under the $7.7 billion spending include:
- – $2 billion Forrestfield-Airport Link, scheduled to begin operations in 2020
- – $1.5 billion towards the Perth Freight Link, due for completion in 2021‑22
- – $427 million for the $1.9 billion MAX Light Rail project
- – $145 million for dual carriageway on Armadale Road
- – $49 million for Ellenbrook Bus Rapid Transit project
